Biography of Chef Bradford J. Boisvert
Bradford’s culinary journey has been a busy, yet incredible one. His culinary career started at the age of ten in his home town of Warwick, Rhode Island, where Bradford started his own catering business.  Bradford also worked at several local restaurants, as well the 1996 summer Olympics in Atlanta Georgia, where he cooked for numerous dignitaries and athletes. Bradford then went on to the Culinary Institute of America, located in New York, to get his formal training.   He began by completing his Associates Degree in Culinary Arts and then when on to complete a bachelors in Restaurant Management.

Bradford's journey next lead him to Vancouver Island, where he had the wonderful opportunity to work for, place like the Aerie resort, and the Hotel Grand Pacific just to highlight a few.

Bradford has also had the honor of being able to participate in and win numerous culinary competitions such as the Bocuse d’Or USA Concours, as well as being featured in several newspapers and magazines such as Forbes, Newsweek, USA Today, Take Five Magazine and Eat: Travel and Epicure Magazine. You also might recognize him from various appearances as a local chef on the New Day show (the New VI).

While Bradford has had the joy of working for and with some wonderful people over the past couple of years his strong entrepreneurial sprit and passion for the restaurant business has lead him to open Amuse with his life and business partner Leah Bellerive.

Amusé is a French bistro style restaurant located in Shawnigan Lake.  To create Amuse Bradford has combined his passions for cooking with his other passions for the environment and the sustainability of food sources. At Amusé Bradford uses local ingredients, organic produce to create his French inspired dishes. Currently Bradford and Leah are in the process of growing their own herbs and produce on the property of Amusé to aid in helping them to create the best dining experience possible.

Leah D. Bellerive Bio

Naturally driven and determined, business has always been my passion and my natural career path.  Shortly after entering high school I set my sights on a Bachelor of Commerce; I knew exactly what I wanted and where I wanted to get it.  Now entering my fourth and final year at the University of Victoria, my passion for business has only grown with the experience and knowledge I have gained.

While completing my degree I have had the opportunity to work in several local and unique food establishments.  Whether it was serving the elderly at Wedgwood house or learning about marketing cider at Merridale, my skills have become rounded through these experiences.  My philosophy on business is simple – consistently offer a quality product, treat people like you would want to be treated and always follow your passion.  With my drive, knowledge and skills, I feel I can be successful in all my future endeavours.
